Stars as Commander Data on The Next Generation. He also plays Lore, Data's brother, and Dr. Noonian Soong, Data's creator. Because of the nature of his character, he has played several multiple roles on TNG. Born in Houston, Texas, Spiner did a lot of acting wok on and off Broadway and even drove a cab for six months when he was just starting out. He hates the fact that he can still hear his Texas accent in the voice of Data when he watches the show. He watched the original Star Trek series when he was in college (which perhaps hits at his age, which he does not like to divulge), but says his hero when he was young was Jock Mahoney, the Range Rider. He does however, believe in beings from other planets. Interested in comedy, he appeared in The Little Shop of Horrors at the Westwood Playhouse in Los Angeles. His film credits include Stardust Memories, Independance Dayas well as some TV movies. He has also guest starred on The twilight Zone, Hill Street Blues, Cheers, and Night Court.
